There's an amazing Wabanaki sauna project that we need your help with.
Niweskok is a Wabanaki-led organization rematriating coastal Penobscot Bay. They recently led a major Land Back project in Swanville, securing over 245 acres where they’re developing a Wabanaki farm and education center.
Niweskok is building a community sauna on their land as a place of rest and renewal as they walk their path of land rematriation. They have a plan, a builder, and will be breaking ground this fall.
Over a dozen sauna businesses across Wabanaki homelands are joining together to fundraise for Niweskok’s sauna. We’re uniting into one voice to lift up this project.
How can you support? So many ways! Donate to Niweskok’s Give Butter fundraising page and subscribe to their newsletter at https://www.niweskok.org.
Join us in supporting Niweskok’s mission by funding a place for rest and dreaming with the land.
Rove Sauna will also be donating 50% of all sessions booked each 5pm session on Fridays until this project is complete.
